6 Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 THE JOURNAL VINESSA DEE YERKIE CORDER Vinessa Dee Yerkie Corder, 56, of Oak Grove passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016, in Fredericks- burg with her family by her side. She was born November 12, 1959 to the late John W. Yerkie Jr., and Dorothy Bayne Yerkie of Piscataway, Md. Vi- nessa grew up in Piscataway. She was an interior designer, and had a pas- sion for historic preservation of her house, Sweet Briar. She was a lady of many talents that enjoyed the simple things in life like gardening, antiqu- ing, and time spent with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Donald J Corder; son Dal- las Bayne Corder; daughter Dalila Jane Corder Nelson (Matthew); three grandchildren, Matthew Jr., Penelope, Emmeline, and a grand- son on the way. One sister, Cindy; four brothers, John (Buddy), Walter, Vincent, Jacob (Jack) Yerkie, and ex- tended family and friends. A celebration of life service was held at Oak Grove Baptist Church Monday, September 12. Interment followed in St. Peter's Cemetery, Oak Grove. JUNE ASHTON STEPPE On Saturday, September 3, 2015, June Ash- ton Steppe, was called home to be with her Lord.
